Reading, writing, speaking, and listening impact every part of your child’s school day.

If your K-8 child is struggling to keep up with grade-level reading and writing expectations, suddenly hates reading or writing, or isn’t making progress with school-based literacy support - we can help.

At Line by Line Literacy, intervention is always one-to-one.

Resources and routines are grounded in evidence-based practices from the Science of Reading and the Science of Learning.

Our approach is tech-free. Your child is never placed on an app or assigned to an automated program.

Every session is customized for your child. Progress is measured weekly and adjusted in real time based on your child's response.

Our approach:

1. Identify the priority skill
Your child completes a comprehensive in-person literacy assessment to pinpoint which literacy skill to address first. This can include:

  • phonics

  • fluency

  • vocabulary and morphological awareness

  • verbal reasoning

  • comprehension

  • handwriting

  • spelling

  • writing organization and coherence

  • writing conventions (grammar)

  • executive functioning behaviors related to literacy

2. Build the plan
We develop a personalized, high-dosage, 8-week intervention cycle focused on one, clearly defined goal, with progress monitoring, weekly home practice materials, and guidance for advocating for appropriate school-based support.

3. Parent support
Each intervention session includes 5 days of 15-minute at-home reinforcement activities. We review all activities with parents at the end of each session and provide video demonstrations and on-call support for questions.

4. Teach and measure
Your child receives explicit, time-limited, focused instruction, with progress monitored throughout the cycle.

5. Review what comes next
At the end of the cycle, we examine the results together and decide whether the intervention is complete, should continue with a new goal, or needs adjustment.
